About the event

We invite you to a memory-making evening in honour of the launch of Laura May’s enchanting new book, Kitchen Magic: Over 65 Enchanting Recipes and Rituals for a Cozy, Witchy Kitchen.

Step into a world where every herb carries a story and every cup becomes a spell. Laura will introduce twelve dried herbs and flowers, each chosen for its folklore, symbolism, and magical correspondences: love, abundance, clarity, protection and more. You will be guided to create your own loose-leaf tea blend with intention, turning the act of preparation into ritual.

As the tea steeps, Laura will lead you through a ritual practice once popularised by Austin Osman Spare, teaching you how to craft a sigil, a symbolic imprint of your desire, charged and made tangible in the simplest of forms.

Homemade syrups, tales from the hearth, and Laura’s own cake or scones, all dairy- and egg-free, will accompany the evening. Everything you need will be provided, though you are warmly invited to bring your favourite mug or vessel if you wish your ritual to feel more personal.

Laura May is a kitchen witch and content creator known online as @lauramayritualkitchen. From her narrowboat, she shares recipes, folkloric wisdom, and rituals around modern witchcraft. Her work centres on bringing intention and magic into the everyday, a practice that supported her own healing journey away from disordered eating and continues to inspire thousands who follow her craft.

An evening of folklore, flavour, and magic: where kitchen witchery comes to life, and intention is sipped with every cup.
